Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- Sri Lankans migrating for foreign employment has increased by 4.84 percent in July compared to June this year, Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment stated.

Accordingly, a group of 25,622 Lankans departed overseas for employment in July 2026, which the bureau stated is the highest amount reported in a single month during this year.

The amount of Sri Lankans who departed for foreign employment in June this year is 24,440.

A high interest of Sri Lankans turning to foreign employment is shown this year according to memorandums of understanding arrived at by the Sri Lankan government with countries such as Israel, South Korea, and Japan.
