Sri Lanka, May 22 -- A warning has been issued over the possibility of minor flooding in the Kelani River basin over the next 48 hours, due to heavy rainfall in catchment areas.

The Irrigation Department urged residents living in low-lying areas near the Kelani River in the Divisional Secretariat divisions of Seethawaka, Dompe, Padukka, Homagama, Biyagama, Kaduwela, Kolonnawa, Kelaniya, Wattala, and Colombo to remain vigilant.
