Sri Lanka, Sept. 21 -- The Department of Irrigation has announced that the flood warning previously issued for the Gin Ganga basin and the Kuda Ganga sub-basin of the Kalu Ganga has been extended for another 24 hours. This decision was taken as water levels in the respective rivers have risen due to persistent heavy rainfall. In light of this situation, the Department of Irrigation has urged residents living in low-lying areas along these river basins-and particularly motorists utilizing secondary roads-to remain highly vigilant and exercise extreme caution.
