Sri Lanka, April 23 -- Five suspects, who were being held under detention orders after being arrested while transporting over 161 kilograms of heroin in the deep sea, were ordered to be remanded until May 05 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today (23).
The Navy originally arrested these suspects and brought them to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbour.
Subsequently, the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) commenced investigations and obtained court permission to detain and interrogate the individuals.
Following the expiration of the detention orders, the PNB produced the five suspects before the court today (23) and requested an order to place them in remand custody.
