Five-member Supreme Court bench to hear 22nd Amendment petitions
Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- The Supreme Court ordered today (31) to call the petitions filed challenging the 22nd Constitutional Amendment draft bill presented to Parliament by the government tomorrow (01) for consideration.
Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena also named a five-member Supreme Court bench to hear these petitions.
Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena serves as the chairman of that bench.
Judges Achala Wengappuli, Arjuna Obeyesekere, Sampath Abeykoon, and Gihan Kulatunga are included as the other members of that bench.
The relevant petitions are scheduled to be considered tomorrow (01) before this bench.
