Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- The first reading of the Appropriation Bill for the year 2027 is scheduled to take place in Parliament today (07).

Approval for this was granted during a recent meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.

President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, will present the budget speech to Parliament on 12 November.

Thereafter, the second reading debate will take place for seven days from 13 to 20 November, with the vote scheduled for 6.00 p.m. on 20 November.

The committee stage debate of the budget will be held for 19 days from 21 November to 14 December.

The final vote on the third reading of the budget is scheduled for 6.00 p.m. on 14 December.
