Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- A fire broke out last afternoon (23) in a government teak reserve located near the Aliyagala area in Hulandawa South, Monaragala, spreading across more than 15 acres.

Residents state that the fire is spreading rapidly due to dry weather conditions, destroying a large number of valuable plants including teak, while a risk of further spread remains.
