Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- According to a department of meteorology announcement, favourable atmospheric conditions for thundershowers are expected in many parts of the island during the afternoon starting from tomorrow.

Scattered rain or thundershowers may occur after 1.00 pm in the Uva, Eastern, and Central provinces as well as in the Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts, and fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can occur at some locations.

Slight showers may occur during the morning in coastal areas of the Western province and the Galle and Matara districts.
