Sri Lanka, May 28 -- Father and son duo, have been arrested by the Miriihana Police after allegedly obstructing police officers and verbally abusing and threatening them while they were attempting to take legal action over the illegal dumping of garbage on a public road.

According to reports, a video showing a group dumping waste by the roadside near the turning to Epitamulla, Demala Watta on May 26 from a blue lorry was received by the duty mobile phone of the Officer-in-Charge of the Miriihana Headquarters Police Station.

Acting on this, the Police checked the vehicle's registration details through the Department of Motor Traffic and found that the lorry belonged to a resident of Thalawathugoda Road, Pita Kotte.
