Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- The father of major drug trafficker Shiran Basik, who is in detention, was arrested.

Police state that the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau made the arrest under money laundering charges.

It was revealed that Shiran Basik purchased a house valued at around Rs. 30 million in a luxury housing complex in the Gampaha area under his father's name.

Accordingly, Shiran Basik's father was informed to arrive at the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau today to provide a statement regarding this matter.
