Sri Lanka, June 7 -- Farmers in Anuradhapura llandagahawewa stage flaming torch protest over high fertilizer prices and electricity bills

A flaming torch protest took place in the llandagahawewa area of Anuradhapura last night (6), conducted by local farmers alongside Rajarata Podu Govi Ekamuthuva Chairman Wijeweera.

The protestors demand an immediate reduction in fertilizer prices and electricity bills. Furthermore, they issued a warning that they will take to the streets on the eighth if their demands are not met. The farmers also expressed their views to the media regarding the various difficulties they face.
