Sri Lanka, Aug. 26 -- Showers can occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.

According to the Department of Meteorology fairly heavy showers above 75 millimetres can occur in some places.

It also notes that a few showers may occur in Anuradhapura, Matale, and Hambantota districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ampara, Monaragala, and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.

Mainly dry weather prevails in the rest of the island.
