Sri Lanka received strong encouragement from the European Union (EU) to pursue continued preferential market access under the next Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) framework, alongside a note that the country failed to fully capitalise on the trade concession over the past decade.
The period before the next GSP+ reapplication process should be used by Sri Lanka to accelerate reforms, attract investment, and strengthen industrialisation.
