Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- Switzerland's Edelweiss Air inaugurated its winter flight services to Sri Lanka, with its inaugural flight arriving at the Katunayake airport this morning (27), coincided with the onset of winter across Europe.

An Airbus A340 aircraft was deployed for this journey, carrying 290 passengers and 16 crew members from Zurich, Switzerland, landing at Katunayake airport at 7:50 AM today.

The airline plans to operate Airbus A340 and Airbus A350 aircraft for its winter schedule, with 65 flights planned between Zurich and Katunayake from today until 15 May 2027.
