Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- Two suspects who carried counterfeit currency notes to deposit at a bank located in the Mulankavil Police Division were arrested, Mulankavil police said.

The suspects were arrested by police officers yesterday (08), while they were in possession of two counterfeit 5,000 rupee notes to be deposited at a bank within the Mulankavil police division. The duo arrested are residents of Pooneryn and Nachchikuda, aged 26 and 61.

The arrested suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Kilinochchi Magistrate's Court today (09).

Further investigations are conducted by the Mulankavil police.
