Driver surrenders over fatal Mattakkuliya road crash
Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- The 52-year-old driver of the car involved in the fatal road incident near the Mattakkuliya-Ferguson Junction last night has surrendered to the police.
The Police said an investigation was launched to determine whether the driver had been under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
The car, which was travelling at high speed from the Wattala direction, reportedly went out of control and collided with two three-wheelers and two motorcycles.
Three were killed, and 10 others were reported injured.
The deceased were residents of Grandpass, Colombo 15, and Mattakkuliya, aged 44 and 64.
The injured are receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
