Sri Lanka, April 20 -- A document circulating on social media claiming that Hiru requested police protection is fake, according to Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka.

The leading fact-checking organisation confirmed that the letter, which appears in an official Hiru Media format, is not authentic.

Hiru TV's Deputy News Director has also issued a statement stressing that the document is fabricated.
