Dengue risk shows slight decline in Sabaragamuwa and Southern Provinces
Sri Lanka, July 7 -- A slight reduction in dengue cases appears in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces according to the National Dengue Control Unit. Acting Director Dr. Kapila Kannangara stated that 52.4% of reported cases originate from the Western Province.
A dengue control programme covering 22 medical officer of health divisions identified as high-risk areas in the Western Province continued for the third day today. A total of 62,422 dengue patients and 39 deaths appear in reports so far this year.
