Sri Lanka, July 22 -- The number of dengue cases reported in Sri Lanka this year currently stands at 78,125, with the death toll at 56.

A total of 1,097 dengue cases were reported within the past 24 hours.

Hospital capacity is gradually decreasing, Health Ministry Secretary Specialist Dr. Anil Jasinghe said when inquired by the Hiru News.

The Health Ministry Secretary added that news claiming hospitals are not admitting patients is false.
