Sri Lanka, Aug. 8 -- The total number of dengue patients reported in the country during this year so far is 89,033, the National Dengue Control Unit pointed out.

Within the first 07 days in August, 3,686 patients were reported, the unit added.

During July, 29,973 cases were reported, which is the highest number reported within a month this year.

So far, 64 dengue deaths have been reported.
