Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The Court of Appeal, which concluded considering the writ application submitted by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, announced today (03) that the order on whether to grant leave to proceed for the application will be announced on September 22.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa, filinf the writ application requests the court the issuance of an order preventing his arrest and detention in relation to investigations conducted on the Easter Sunday terrorist attack.

The bench of judges ordered here to file written submissions related to this case before August 31, if there are any.
