People across Sri Lanka currently prepare to welcome the new year.

Large crowds fill major bus stations as travelers head to their hometowns. Reporters state that the Colombo main bus station, Fort railway station, and the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Center overflow with passengers traveling home.
