CPC says no fuel price hike until month-end
Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- There will be no change in fuel prices until the end of this month, says Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation D.J. Rajakaruna.
Speaking at a press conference today, he stated that the corporation currently possesses sufficient fuel reserves.
Meanwhile, private fuel companies have restricted distribution, claiming they are incurring losses due to rising global oil prices. Despite the government providing a fuel subsidy to private companies during the recent price revision, the companies informed authorities that they cannot sell fuel under current cost structures.
