Court to revisit Colonel Maddumage petition over Easter probe
Sri Lanka, June 8 -- The Court of Appeal has fixed for June 22 the further consideration of a petition filed by former State Intelligence Service officer, Colonel Kalum Maddumage, seeking an order preventing his arrest in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
The petition was taken up today before a Court of Appeal bench comprising President of the Court of Appeal Rohanta Abeysuriya and Judge Priyantha Fernando.
During proceedings, Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath, appearing on behalf of the Attorney General, raised preliminary objections, arguing that the petition could not be maintained.
