Sri Lanka, May 8 -- The Colombo High Court ordered the case against former Minister Udaya Gammanpila, involving the misappropriation of shares belonging to an Australian businessman using a forged power of attorney, to be called on 11 June.

The order followed the case being taken up today (8) before Colombo High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Suwandurugoda.

Udaya Gammanpila provided evidence from the witness dock during the proceedings.

Following his testimony, further examination was postponed until 11 June.

The Attorney General filed this case during the previous Yahapalana government, alleging that the former minister criminally misappropriated company shares owned by Australian businessman Brian Shaddick through the use of a fraudulent ...
