Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- The Court of Appeal today (1) ordered the dismissal, without hearing, of a writ application filed by former president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, which sought an order preventing the Criminal Investigation Department from arresting and detaining him under the Prevention of Terrorism Act in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

The order was issued by an Appellate Court bench comprising Appellate Court President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justice Sarath Dissanayake after considering the facts pertaining to the application.
