Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- Parliamentarians must vote according to their conscience during this afternoon's vote on the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution Bill, the Dinana Dakuna Collective urges.

The collective states that determining whether to pass this amendment is an inescapable and immense responsibility resting upon parliament and every voting member.

Issuing a statement, the collective notes that public trust is won through genuine honesty, and the moment fake pretences are understood, public trust will collapse.

They further request parliamentarians to abstain from voting if they cannot do so in accordance with their conscience.
