Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The Colombo-Kandy main road was decided to be temporarily closed from the Kadugannawa area today (03) from 3 p.m.

The road is being temporarily closed in this manner due to the prevailing severe adverse weather conditions and the severe risk of earth mounds collapsing and rocks falling, the Director General of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) announced.

The objective of this is to ensure the safety of passengers in the face of the dangerous situation that arose in the Kadugannawa landslide risk zone alongside the heavy rain falling in the area.
