Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- Cleaning work on the Gimpatha Canal in the Panadura electorate, which could not be cleaned previously due to various technical issues, commenced today (03) after many years under the leadership of Member of Parliament Nilanthi Kottahachchi.

According to a post on the MP's social media page, the canal-stretching for about three kilometres across three Grama Niladhari divisions in the Keselwatte zone of the Panadura electorate-had become severely polluted owing to unauthorised constructions and waste disposal.
