China-Sri Lanka FTA talks expected to resume
Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- Talks on the China-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement, which are currently temporarily stalled, are expected to resume, according to Minister of Trade Wasantha Samarasinghe.
The Minister stated this while participating in a discussion held at the Ministry of Trade with the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
Discussions were held regarding the possibility of further expanding the export of local products such as seafood, vegetables, fruits, tea, and gems to China.
The Ministry of Trade mentioned that the Chinese Ambassador also explained Sri Lanka's ability to enter the international and Chinese markets centred around Hong Kong.
