Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- China and Sri Lanka are set to mark two major milestones in their bilateral relationship in 2027, namely the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 75th anniversary of the historic Rubber-Rice Pact, with Beijing expressing its readiness to further strengthen its strategic partnership with Colombo.

Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Wei Huaxiang said China was prepared to work with Sri Lanka to deepen bilateral cooperation, implement agreements and understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, and further develop what he described as a strategic cooperative partnership founded on mutual assistance and longstanding friendship.
