Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- China and Sri Lanka celebrated the seventy-seventh anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China during a high-level diplomatic reception hosted at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.

Chinese Ambassador Wei Huaxiang welcomed government ministers, members of parliament, and members of the diplomatic corps to mark the milestone event.

During the gathering, discussions highlighted the historical ties between the two nations, specifically pointing to the historic Rubber-Rice Pact signed more than seventy years ago as an enduring symbol of solidarity and mutual assistance.
