Case against Wimal Weerawansa over illegal assets fixed for October 20
Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Further evidence examination in the case filed by the Bribery Commission against former Minister Wimal Weerawansa over the unlawful acquisition of assets exceeding Rs. 75 million beyond his legal income while serving as a minister was ordered to be called on the 20th. The Colombo High Court issued this order today (08).
This case was called before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihail today.
The High Court Judge today issued summonses to prosecution witnesses numbers 31, 32, and 33 to appear before the court on the next date for further examination of evidence in the case.
Three witnesses related to the incident provided evidence in court today.
