Sri Lanka, July 3 -- The case against Rakitha Rajapaksa, SJB Horana organiser Charith Vasantha Kumara Abeysinghe, and former Airport and Aviation Services director Varushahannadigae Aruna Sri Chathuranga adjourned this morning and will resume at 2 p.m.

Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued this order moments ago regarding the trio, who remain remanded by the Bribery Commission for allegedly soliciting a 120 million rupee bribe from the wife of an organised criminal.

During the initial proceedings, lawyer Sanjaya Marambe requested a postponement as senior lawyer Asoka Weerasuriya, representing the first suspect, is currently appearing in a higher court.

The court subsequently set the resumption time for 2 p.m.
