Sri Lanka, Sept. 7 -- A car veered off the road and came to a halt atop the central guardrail near the 32.4 km post in the Dodangoda area on the Southern Expressway this morning (07).

Southern Expressway Traffic Police stated this.

Travelling from Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport towards Matara, the car crashed through water barriers placed for maintenance work before landing on the guardrail.

Severe damage was caused to the central guardrail, the road barriers, and the car.
