Cabraal's appeal over Greek bond case to be heard in October
Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the case filed against him by the Bribery Commission regarding the 2012 Greek bond incident.
After calling the appeal today (11), the court ordered it to be called on October 09 for support.
The Bribery Commission filed a case before the Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar against a group of accused, including former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, alleging that they caused a loss to the government by investing state funds in Greek bonds while knowing that Greece was undergoing an economic collapse.
