Sri Lanka, March 3 -- Gampaha Additional Magistrate Dhammika Uduwewidana ordered the confiscation of a large quantity of diesel today after a businessman faced charges for the unauthorized sale and possession of fuel.
The Malwathuhiripitiya Police conducted a raid following information that individuals were taking advantage of the current fuel shortage by selling diesel and petrol at inflated prices. Officers seized 1,000 litres of diesel allegedly sold illegally, along with another 412 litres found in the suspect's possession.
