Sri Lanka, July 30 -- A Businessman, resident of Kahatagahamana, Bulathsinhala, was arrested after surrendering to Police following an incident where he fled after assaulting a police officer, the Horana Police stated yesterday (28).

Investigations revealed that the 36-year-old suspect arrived at the hospital premises on the evening of July 27 to visit his father, who was receiving treatment at the the Horana District General Hospital, and behaved improperly being intoxicated at that time.

When a Police Sergeant from the hospital police unit of the Horana Police attempted to remove him from the location, the suspect assaulted the officer and a female security guard before escaping in a motor car, according to police statement.
