Sri Lanka, Oct. 20 -- The Buddha Sasana Council met today (20) at the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, with the participation of members of the Maha Sangha representing all three Buddhist sects, led by Most Venerable Dr. Medagama Dhammananda Thera, Chief Registrar of the Asgiriya Chapter.

The special meeting aimed to obtain the views and proposals of the Maha Sangha on the situation arising in society over the removal of the robe of Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, and to brief the monks on the measures taken by the government in this regard.
