Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- Two brothers who were carrying narcotics hidden in food packets to visit their imprisoned brother were arrested, the Anguruwatota police said.

The arrested are residents of Horana.

Their brother is in the Kalutara prison over a narcotics charge, and they were arrested while travelling on a motorcycle to visit him. Police officers on daily duty on the Millaniya-Batagoda road inspected them at a roadblock and found around 12,400 milligrams of narcotics hidden amidst the chili paste inside the polythene covers containing chili paste in two food packets.

The stock of narcotics was discovered when the suspects were inspected due to suspicious behaviour after stopping their motorcycle far from the roadblock.
