Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- The bodies of two women suspected to have been beaten and murdered, found behind a house in the Ginigala area in Habaraduwa, were brought to Karapitiya Hospital for post-mortem examination last afternoon (08).

This was done after Galle Division Scenes of Crime Officers arrived and conducted site inspections this afternoon.

The two sisters of the same family, who were unmarried retired teachers, were aged 81 and 87.

They lived alone in the house concerned, and police suspect that they were beaten with a stone and murdered before their bodies were left behind the house.
