Sri Lanka, July 20 -- A second letter was forwarded to the Minister of Justice, Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara, by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, inquiring about the proposed constitutional amendment to increase the retirement age of Supreme Court and Court of Appeal judges.

The Bar Association pointed out that although letters were forwarded to the Minister on March 30 and to the President on May 25 inquiring about this matter, it is regrettable that no response or official observation was received.

Accordingly, they forwarded this letter to the Minister of Justice on 16 July.
