Sri Lanka, March 7 -- The Australian High Commission in Colombo has rejected claims that Sri Lanka has been labelled a high-risk travel destination for Australians.
In a statement, the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka said Australia's official travel advisory level for Sri Lanka remains unchanged, despite misleading messages circulating online.
The mission urged Australians to rely on the official Smartraveller website for accurate and updated travel information.
"If it's not on Smartraveller, Aussies know it's not fair dinkum travel advice," the High Commission said, noting that some social media posts had wrongly suggested changes to Australia's advisory for Sri Lanka.
