Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- An associate of Badowita Asanka's drug syndicate was arrested by the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit.

An individual named Lakmal was arrested in this manner.

This raid was conducted following information received by OIC Chief Inspector Indika Weerasinghe, under the direct supervision of the Director of the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit, Assistant Superintendent of Police Rohan Olugala.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect serves as a distributor in Badowita Asanka's drug network and hands over the daily income received from it back to Badowita Asanka.

A group of officers from the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit discovered over 15 grams of ice in his possession during the arrest.
