Sri Lanka, March 26 -- Properties valued at approximately Rs. 150 million belonging to a woman from the Soysapura area in Moratuwa, allegedly earned through drug trafficking, were frozen for seven days by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division.
The Illegal Assets Investigation Division took this action using powers vested under the Money Laundering Act.
The frozen assets include a land and house in the Keselwatta area worth Rs. 50 million, as well as a land and a two-story house in the Moratuwa area valued at Rs. 100 million.
The woman in question was arrested yesterday and is scheduled to be produced before the Moratuwa Magistrate's Court today (26).
