Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Kotagala Pradeshiya Sabha member Ganeshan Rajendran from the EROS Democratic Party is receiving treatment in hospital, alleging that an organiser and a supporter of the National People's Power in the Kotagala area has assaulted him.

The councillor stated that this assault took place in Kotagala town on July 21 around 3 p.m.

While he was travelling home in his car on the evening of July 21, the National People's Power Kotagala area organiser and his supporter blocked his car in Kotagala town, stopped it, and both of them assaulted causing injuries, he alleged.

The councillor also lodged a complaint with the Dimbula Pathana Police stating that they took the car key after the assault.
