Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- Army troops launched relief operations yesterday to ensure the safety of affected residents amid flooding in the Kurei Grama Niladhari Division of the Manthai West Divisional Secretariat Division in the Mannar District, the Army stated.

Accordingly, Army personnel safely evacuated 163 individuals belonging to 70 families to a temporary welfare centre established at the Iluppaikkadavai Government School, and steps were taken to provide cooked meals to those staying there.
