Sri Lanka, April 17 -- The chief prelate of the Dikwella Wewurukannala Budu Raja Maha Vihara filed a complaint with the Dikwella Police regarding the theft of an ancient sword from the temple museum.

According to the chief prelate, the metallic sword, measuring approximately two feet in length, disappeared after 5:00 PM on the 15th.

Someone removed the artifact from its display within the museum premises.

Dikwella Police are currently conducting investigations into the theft and plan to report the facts to the Matara Magistrate's Court on the 20th.
