Sri Lanka, May 31 -- The Wellawatte Police stated that a woman was hit by a train travelling from Panadura towards Colombo.

Police added that the identity of the deceased woman is not yet confirmed.

At the time of her death, she wore a white and brown saree and possessed a green handbag.

Following the incident, the Wellawatte Police commenced an investigation, and the body of the deceased woman is currently placed in the mortuary of the Kalubowila (Colombo South Teaching) Hospital.

The Wellawatte Police conduct further investigations into the incident.
