Sri Lanka, Sept. 6 -- An alleged organised crime gang member was arrested with 6,000 milligrammes of heroin and a sword during a raid conducted in the Golumada Junction area of Ratmalana by the Mount Lavinia Divisional Crimes Investigation Bureau.

The arrested suspect has been identified as a 23-year-old resident of Rustam Watta, Bungalow Road in Ratmalana.

Police stated that investigations revealed the suspect is a close follower of an individual known as 'Sudharaka', who manages drug trafficking operations from abroad on behalf of 'Badowita Asanka', an alleged large-scale drug trafficker and organised criminal currently residing overseas.
